Thank a Giver (TAG) Day – Thank A Giver Day (TAG Day) provides our campus community with the opportunity to thank the donors who support Illinois Wesleyan. We celebrate each year in mid-February because it marks the symbolic point during the academic year – about 70% of the way through – when tuition dollars run out and other support – from alumni and friends, our endowment, and external grants – kicks in for the remainder of the year. Please make time to stop by one of the TAG Day tables set up in CNS and State Farm Hall from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and the Dugout from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to write a note to one or more donors who make the IWU experience possible. You are also encouraged to share your gratitude on social media using #IWUThanks.

4 p.m., Evelyn Chapel – ReligiosiTEA: Mark, Miracles, and Magic – Jared Calaway, Visiting Assistant Professor of Religion, will lead this week's interfaith dialogue. In Mark 7:31-37, Jesus heals a mute and deaf man by putting his fingers into his ears, spitting, touching the man’s tongue, and saying, “Epaphtha.” Matthew 15:29-31 turns this into a general discussion of healing. Luke drops the story entirely. When compared to nature, miracles and exorcisms, Mark’s accounts of Jesus’ healings prefer physical manipulations and occasional Aramaic speech, yet these elements or entire stories disappear in Matthew and Luke. Why? Come and find out!
