• Senior Tony Albano was the individual medalist and the Illinois Wesleyan men's golf team claimed the team title in the 20-team IWU Invitational, concluded on Saturday, April 4, at Normal's Ironwood Golf Course.
• A total of eight first place finishes led the Illinois Wesleyan women's track team to the title of the nine-team 2015 DePauw Outdoor Invitational at Blackstock Stadium in Greencastle, Ind., on Saturday, April 4.
• Head men's basketball coach Ron Rose was selected as co-winner of the Division III "Coach of the Year Award" for the state by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association, marking his sixth straight year as either a winner or co-winner of the honor.

Hansen Student Center a Polling Place on Tuesday
Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7, is the Consolidated Election for the City of Bloomington. Once again the Hansen Student Center will be a polling place. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. About 50 spaces will be set aside in the Hansen Student Center parking lot for voters. As an alternative place to park, spaces should be available in the lots at the Welcome Center, Evelyn Chapel and behind Theta Chi, which is off of Horenberger Drive.
We make Hansen Student Center available as a polling place not only for the community, but also for our students, faculty and staff who are registered to vote in Bloomington. If you live in precincts 1, 4 or 41, the Hansen Student Center will be your polling place.

• Assistant Professor of Sociology Meghan Burke gave a paper at the Midwest Sociological Society meeting (March 25-29, 2015) called "The State of Research on Color-Blind Racism: Established Ground and New Frontiers," and her first book, Racial Ambivalence in Diverse Communities was featured on a book panel.
Burke also supervised Sen (Jules) Wang '15, who did a poster presentation on his paper, "Desirable as a Man? Hegemonic Masculinity and Asian American Gayness."
• Assistant Professor of Nursing Brenda Lessen and two colleagues have published "Establishing Intervention Fidelity of an Oral Motor Intervention for Preterm Infants" in the March/April 2015 edition of Neonatal Network. This original research study was done with IWU honors student Clare Goebel Morello '10, who is now an RN in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Chicago and pursuing her doctorate at the University of Illinois at Chicago to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
• Assistant Professor of Music Adriana Ponce delivered a guest talk entitled "Convergence, Digression, Circularity and Transformation as Elements of Romantic Form in Chopin" as part of the Carrigan Music Theory Lecture Series at the University of Michigan on March 26.
• Assistant Professor of English Molly Robey will present “Domesticating Palestine: Biblical Geography and the American Woman’s Home” as part of the Geography/Geology/Geohydrology Explorations and Observations (GGGEO) series at Illinois State University. See details.
• Assistant Professor and Science Librarian Crystal Boyce has had her research, "Secret Shopping as User Assessment Tool," accepted as a poster session for the American Library Association Annual Conference in San Francisco, June 2015. Fewer than half the submissions were accepted.
• Tripp Burton '04 will direct "The Man Who Came to Dinner" at Theatre of Western Springs in Western Springs, Illinois.
• Rachel Harper '94 was awarded a William T. Kemper Fellowship for Teaching Excellence at the University of Missouri, where she is director of the Writing Center and a member of the Honors Humanities faculty in the Honors College.
• Melanie Keller '97 is a member of Signal Ensemble Theatre and is directing its Chicago premiere of The Drowning Girls.
