• Chair and Professor of Hispanic Studies Christina Isabelli was invited by American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) to be trained as a national Foreign Language Education Program Reviewer. In this position, she will examine reports and data submitted by universities seeking ACTFL/CAEP recognition for their foreign language teacher education programs.
• Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies César Valverde presented a paper on Mario Vargas Llosa's 2010 novel The Dream of the Celt titled "Colonization, exploitation and sexuality in The Dream of the Celt" at the IV International Conference Of Modern Languages. Costa Rica, December 15, 2014.
• Assistant Director for Communications Kim Hill received a Star Award from the Association for Women in Communications, recognizing her contributions to the Bloomington-Normal Chapter.
• Artwork by Mel Keiser '07 will be featured in an exhibition, Self is a River, in the Armstrong Gallery at the McLean County Arts Center Jan. 9-Feb. 28.

Wilson's plans to retire were covered in media reports, including local media The Pantagraph – which also published a retrospective photo gallery – WGLT Radio, WJBC Radio, WMBD/WYZZ TV, and his hometown newspaper, The Point Pleasant (West Virginia) Register.

Access to Bus Transportation
The Sierra Student Coalition and GREENetwork have been investigating the feasibility of universal access to bus transportation for IWU students, a sustainable alternative to car-based transportation. This was also the topic of an Environmental Studies Senior Seminar paper written by Liz Kuehn '14. Her work is posted on Digital Commons.
