Born and raised in Bloomington IL, Jon has been dancing since 2010 when he got his first taste in Ballroom dancing while working for the Normal Cornbelters Baseball Team.

From there, he started to learn all the major dance styles in Ballroom, Latin and Swing. He started teaching and started his own teaching company in 2012, and started competing in West Coast Swing events in the Midwest and placing in competitions. Over the years he has helped organize special events for the community and helped raise money for local charities in the community. In 2016, he won the People’s Choice Award for the Peoria CASA Dancing with the Stars.

He is currently instructing with the Next Step Dance Studio and this will be his first year at IWU in Spring ’24.
