David Kortemeier

Adjunct Professor

David Kortemeier has 30 years of experience in the theatre as a working actor and 16 as a professor of theatre performance.  He has taught at Clarke University in Dubuque IA as a tenured Associate Professor and chair of the Drama Department, The University of TN in Knoxville as an artist in residence and here at IWU where he is currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Theatre Arts.  Regional work includes principal roles at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, the Great Lakes Theatre Festival in Cleveland, Drury Lane Theatre and Fox Valley Repertory in Chicago, the Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, FL, 4 seasons with Indiana Festival Theatre in Bloomington IN, 11 seasons at the Clarence Brown Theatre in Knoxville, TN and 13 seasons with the IL Shakespeare Festival here in Bloomington.  David holds the MFA in Acting from the University of Louisville and is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
