Class Descriptions
All classes are open to IWU students only. Students are not required to register for fitness classes.
Muscle Mix
Tuesday 5:45-6:30 p.m.
Full body conditioning using light weights, various equipment and a variety of exercises to train all of the body's major muscle groups in a fun environment. Great for everyone, from beginners to experienced exercisers.

Yoga
Monday / Wednesday 6:00-6:45 p.m.
Shirk South East Classroom (New Addition)
Yoga will teach the basic postures in a style that is gentle enough for newcomers, satisfying for those with more experience and modifiable to meet individual needs. The practice of breath-work, relaxation, and simple meditation will also be explored.

Zumba
Monday 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Shirk Practice Gym
ZUMBA is a fun Latin inspired, dance fitness class that is taking the world by storm! The class incorporates exciting and unique Latin moves and rhythms into an effective fitness system. ZUMBA allows you to dance your way to a fitter you in a friendly party like atmosphere!

S.E. Asian Martial Arts
Monday 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Shirk South East Classroom
This class will blend various martial arts from the Philippines (Kali), Indonesia and Malaysia (Silat) and Thailand (Thai Boxing. Drills and techniques for application in self defense will be taught in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Tai Chi
Saturday 9:00-10:00 a.m.
Shirk Activity Center or Quad
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese blend of exercise, meditation, and self-defense. Take the opportunity to explore the gentle flowing movement of Tai Chi to improve balance, increase strength and range of motion, and enhance the immune system.

All classes are free and open to IWU students.
