May Term Class Descriptions

All classes are open to IWU students only.  Students are not required to register for fitness classes.

Hula Hoop  

Thursday 5:30-6:45
Shirk South East Classroom (New Addition)

Hula Hoops have made a comeback! Learn how to take this well-known toy and transform it into a full body, high cardio workout.  You will learn the basic moves necessary to work your core, open your chest and hips, strengthen your back and tone muscles from head to toe.  Everybody will learn at his or her own pace in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.  Smile while you sweat!  Hula hoops are provided during class

Yoga  

Monday / Wednesday  5:45-6:45 p.m. 
Shirk South East Classroom (New Addition)

Yoga will teach the basic postures in a style that is gentle enough for newcomers, satisfying for those with more experience and modifiable to meet individual needs.  The practice of breath-work, relaxation, and simple meditation will also be explored.

Zumba  

Tuesday 5:30-6:30 p.m.

ZUMBA is a fun Latin inspired, dance fitness class that is taking the world by storm! The class incorporates exciting and unique Latin moves and rhythms into an effective fitness system. ZUMBA allows you to dance your way to a fitter you in a friendly party like atmosphere!

WERQ

WERQ is the fiercely fun new dance fitness workout fusing today's hottest pop, rock, and hip hop music with easy dance routines designed for torching calories! You don't have to be a dancer to participate.  "WERQ" is a dance term meaning "to absolutely nail it with dominance and confidence".  You can werq a runway, werq a dance floor, and now WERQ a fitness class. Are you ready to WERQ?
