From orientation and welcome week to ongoing activities characterized as the first-year experience, residence hall programs provide opportunities for students to connect with one another socially, to acclimate to college academics, and gain skills essential to independence.

Much of the planning and advertising for residence hall events takes place through facebook groups created for each hall: Gulick and Funsell.

Understand what it means to live in our community, including our  community expectations , and the  rules and policies that make campus living safe and comfortable .

Looking ahead to the sophomore year, current first-year students will continue in campus housing by choosing housing in an upper-division hall or by residing in a fraternity or sorority chapter house.  

The Office of Residential Life offers a number of valuable employment opportunities to students, from positions as First Year Resident Advisors or Resident Assistants to those as Sustainability or Multicultural Educators.  Still others will serve as Desk Aides.  In all, approximately 10% of students are employed in ORL positions.
