First Year Experience: Animal Studies

  1. Animal Studies is an interdisciplinary field in which people explore questions related to animals from a number of perspectives (psychology, biology, history, art, etc.). At IWU, Animal Studies Scholars will take a gateway course together, attend (and possibly share their work at) a scholarly Animal Studies conference, and will spend spring break doing hands-on work with the animals at the Louisville Zoo. If you have any questions about the program you can get in touch with Dr. Ellen Furlong.
