The Major Sequence:
Each student majoring in philosophy must take a minimum of 10 course units in philosophy to include:

  1. Elementary Symbolic Logic (Phil 102)
    History of Ancient Philosophy (Phil 280)
    History of Modern Philosophy (Phil 281)
  2. Four upper division courses in philosophy (but not including Phil 397). These four must include:
    1. Epistemology (Phil. 350) or Metaphysics (Phil 351)
    2. Ethical Theory (Phil. 304) or Contemporary Ethics (Phil 356)
    3. Major Philosophers and Philosophical Movements (Phil 355)

The Minor Sequence:
A minimum of six courses to include:

  1. Elementary Symbolic Logic (Phil 102)
    History of Ancient Philosophy (Phil 280)
    History of Modern Philosophy (Phil 281)
  2. two additional courses at the upper–division level (but not including Phil 397).
