Magill Hall

If you are a soon-to-become junior or senior student, The Gates will be one of the most exciting choices you can make! As one of the only apartment buildings on campus, the Gates provides spacious apartments with four people in each apartment. The Gates at Wesleyan house 96 students in four bedroom units.  With single bedrooms, double beds and full kitchens, the Gates provides campus-proximate residential housing for students as they develop independence.

With an apartment manager for support in each building, and being so close to campus, The Gates offers the chance for students to fully engage in their college experience. We are a young residential college, leaving room for residents to add to our already rich history and traditions. We look forward to you being active, responsible, and engaged members of our residential community!

WHAT DO STUDENTS LOVE ABOUT THE GATES?

Gates Bedroom

• The Welcome Barbecue! The event is publicized to residents and staff in both Gates Fricke and Gates I - a great opportunity for residents to interact. Although it's publicized to those communities, the events are open to anyone.

The Welcome Barbecue takes place in the fall semester, usually close to the beginning of the year. There is usually music, food, and games.

• The Gates at Wesleyan are only a short walk from campus, only a block east of the Ames Library. Most students find that it is only a six to eight minute walk to most campus buildings.

OUR HISTORY

The Gates

The Gates at Wesleyan was constructed in 2013, in order to provide more options for upper division students on campus. The west building, Fricke Hall, is named in honor of alumni Howard '60 and Sharon Linton '60 Fricke, who generously supported the project.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the Office of Residential Life.
