Residential Life Leadership Opportunities

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is the voice and representative body of students living in residence halls. Membership consists of representatives from each non-Greek living unit and an executive board.

RHA is a student group in transition. Traditional services and events include an annual spring formal, as well as refrigerator/freezer/microwave rentals.

RHA offers leadership positions for students with a wise array of backgrounds and interests. Contact your Hall Director or Hall Council President for more information.

Students in residence are selected by peers as hall leaders and serve the community using one of two models of governance, the Hall Council or the Leadership Involvement Team.  Each is described below:

Hall Council
At the beginning of the academic year, each hall holds elections for membership in the Hall Council. Hall Council positions differ based on the living unit, but generally include a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and representatives from each residence hall floor/wing/suite. This group works to build community in the halls by providing intentional social and educational programs and by communicating the needs of the residents to the Residential Life Staff. By becoming involved, a student learns the value of responsibility by assisting in addressing the problems and concerns of all residence hall students.
