  • The Illinois Wesleyan women's swimming team finished in second place in the 2019 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Swimming & Diving Championships as first-year student Ellen Gilbert earned the Rookie of the Meet honor. The men's team finished in fourth place and first-year student Mason McCauley was also named Rookie of the Meet.

5 p.m., 206, State Farm Hall – Environmental Studies Internship Panel – Do you want to gain real-world experience? Are you wondering what types of internship options are available? Come learn more about internships in the environmental field, how to find and apply for different options, and how to get class credit. Students will also share their first-hand experiences at various internships, giving more insight and helping you find a good fit. And there will be FREE PIZZA!

4 p.m., Evelyn Chapel – ReligiosiTEA: Speedfaithing Date – Speedfaithing is a way to share stories of our lives and worldviews in a fun, informal, and interactive way. Join IWU Interfaith for an hour of lively conversation on questions relating to the way our worldviews and perspectives inform our various commitments and convictions about racial, gender, climate, and other forms of social justice.

 

6 p.m., Davidson Room, Memorial Center – 3D: Trapped in the Wrong Story: Becoming Nicole and Transgender Literature – Assistant Professor of English Molly Robey will present on our Summer Reading book and discuss how the power of storytelling shapes our understanding of ourselves and others, while reviewing the current landscape of young adult and children's literature that address issues of gender identity. Sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion as part of the Diversity, Dialogue, and Dignity (3D) Series.


7:30 p.m., Westbrook Auditorium, Presser Hall – Step Afrika – Step Afrika will perform on campus as part of their Black History Month tour. All are welcome at this free event, sponsored by Student Senate.

Through Sunday, Feb. 24, Williamson Retreat Center, Carlinville, Illinois – Posse Plus Retreat: The State of Our Union – Students, faculty and staff who have pre-registered will attend Illinois Wesleyan's annual Posse Plus Retreat, intended to shape campus conversations around critical issues.
