This year's John Wesley Powell Research Conference marks the 25th anniversary of one of the longest running and largest undergraduate conferences of its kind.


Diaz Wins Brittingham Prize in Poetry
Wesleyan's Joanne Diaz has won the 2014 Brittingham Prize in Poetry for best book-length manuscript of original poetry for her collection, My Favorite Tyrants.


Roesner to Speak at Honors Convocation
Seniors will don their regalia and Kemp teaching award winner Rebecca Roesner will speak at the annual Honors Convocation on Wednesday, April 9.


Director, Playwright Jent '84 to Speak at Commencement
Deanna Jent will deliver Illinois Wesleyan's Commencement address to the Class of 2014 on Sunday, May 4.

Illinois Wesleyan Mourns Wendell Hess
The Wesleyan community lost one of its most respected academic leaders when Emeritus Professor Wendell Hess died on Thursday, April 3. Alumni, colleagues and friends are welcome to share tributes on Facebook.


Illinois Wesleyan sophomore Nia Joiner, who overcame a severe auto accident while in high school to become a Division III national champion, is featured in a story in the April 7 issue of Sports Illustrated magazine.

Nora Peterson '14, anthropology and womens studies major and Hispanic Studies minor, has been selected to receive a summer scholarship for study in Alcalá de Henares, Spain at the Instituto Franklin-Universidad de Alcalá de Henares for four weeks in July 2014.

This competitive award is granted by Sigma Delta Pi, National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, to applicants from across the U.S. Peterson was nominated by the IWU chapter.
