Upshaw '82 Wins Fifth Grammy
Soprano Dawn Upshaw '82 has won her fifth Grammy, claiming this year's award for Best Classical Vocal Solo for her performance on Winter Morning Walks. |

• Assistant Professor of the School of Nursing Noel Kerr was selected to receive a Nurse in Washington Internship (NIWI) grant from the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses. Sponsored by the Nursing Organizations Alliance, the NIWI program is held for three days each year in Washington, D.C., and strives to identify how nurses can be involved and influence policy at the local and national level.
• Adam Benovic '14 is now an NFL contributing writer on football.com, focusing on the Chicago Bears.
• Natalie Cummings '10 won District and Region Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and advances to Semi-Finals on March 23.
• Meg Galus '00, executive pastry chef at Park Hyatt Chicago and NoMI restaurant in Chicago, is appearing on the third season of the Chicago Restaurant Pastry Competition, a web series.
• Jacklynn Lesniak '86 has been named chief nursing officer and senior vice president of patient care services at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (Midwestern).
• Dr. Ann Stroink '76 has been named medical director of neurosurgery for Advocate Health Care. In this role, Stroink will provide leadership for neurosurgical activities across the Advocate system.
• A review by Diego Baez '07 on Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky's book, Autobiography of a Corpse, was published in the Los Angeles Review of Books.
