Jeremy Glickman '20 has co-founded Lifestacks Supplements, based on a coffee supplement developed as part of the biannual Entrepreneurship Fellowship for IWU students.
Daniel Maisch '22 of Batavia, Illinois, has been recognized as Illinois Wesleyan's 2021 Student Laureate by the Lincoln Academy of Illinois.
Young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas are encouraged to apply to the 7th annual Celebrating High School Innovators (CHSI) competition, which is co-sponsored by Illinois Wesleyan University.
The University's annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Teach-In on Jan. 19 featured a keynote address by Timothy E. Lewis, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Lewis spoke on "Exposing the Truth of the American Lie: From MLK to CRT," followed by a Q & A.

5 p.m., Zoom – Out of Line Outlines: Crafting a Paper from the Ground Up – This workshop will introduce the concept of creating outlines and reverse outlines, going over the ways in which you can write a more organized, better flowing essay. Visiting Assistant Professor & Academic Success Coordinator Mark Halx and co-author Young Hyeo Joo, an associate professor at South Korea's Gyeongsang National University, had an article accepted for the open access, peer-reviewed academic journal Sage Open. The article is titled "The Subtle Power of Global Governance and its Ongoing Influence on Korean Education Policy."

Opt-In COVID Testing
Optional on-campus COVID-19 testing is open to students, faculty and staff. If you would like to participate, please sign up here. Testing is available Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Shirk Center. Unvaccinated students will test weekly automatically and do not need to sign up. Deadline for registration is 1 p.m. Monday before the testing date.

Emeritus trustee Robert ("Bob") Evans '62 passed away on Jan. 20. Services are planned this Thursday and Friday, Jan. 27 and 28, in Massachusetts. Further information can be found in his obituary.


Nancy Schmidgall, who retired from the Illinois Wesleyan University bookstore after more than 30 years, passed away on Jan. 18. Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 31 in Urbana, Illinois. An obituary is online.
