A series of events are planned for Illinois Wesleyan community members during the week of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, with the theme "The Urgency of Now."
Works by Black artists will be showcased and celebrated in exhibits on view through March at the Merwin and Wakeley Galleries.
Health and innovative thinking was the focus of this year's Founders' Day Convocation at Illinois Wesleyan, as speaker William Murphy '98 described how his experience as a Titan helped shape his career as a biotechnology entrepreneur.

Former Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball standout Kendall Sosa '21 was recognized among the 2022 NCAA Top 10 Award winners.

 

Both Titan men's and women's basketball teams defeated Augustana in home games on Jan. 15.

7 p.m., Hansen Student Center and Virtual – From IWU to Airline Start-up: The Journey of an EntrepreneurBabawande Afolabi, IWU Class of 2010 alumnus, will share his career path from IWU to developing an airline start-up. Babawande Afolabi is the Founder and CEO of Green Africa, a value carrier based in Lagos, Nigeria that offers safe, reliable, and affordable air travel aimed to serve a broader group of customers. Babawande will discuss his challenges with starting a business, how he developed his career passion, and share advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. Opt-In COVID Testing
Optional on-campus COVID-19 testing is open to students, faculty and staff. If you would like to participate, please sign up here. Testing is available Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Shirk Center. Unvaccinated students will test weekly automatically and do not need to sign up. Deadline for registration is 1 p.m. Monday before the testing date.
