Student Affairs Staff Update

The campus community is invited to offer best wishes for Associate Dean of Students / Chaplain Elyse Nelson Winger, who has accepted a position as the University Chaplain at Tufts University, where she will lead a team of diverse faith leaders and guide spiritual life and social justice initiatives. A reception is planned Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Memorial Center Tent – Please sign up for a time to attend so that we don't exceed our 50-guest capacity per time slot.

We will welcome back Lynda Duke, former Associate Provost, to serve as the Interim Assistant Dean of Students for the 2020-21 academic year. Her responsibilities will include student advocacy related to retention and COVID-19 response, Title IX deputy and sexual assault education and prevention, and faculty/staff diversity education as part of the University Council on Diversity intercultural fluency work. Her office will be a combination of virtual connection and weekly in-person office work from Holmes 103.

The Rev. Dr. Monica Corsaro will serve as the Interim Chaplain/Office of Multifaith Engagement for this year (3/4 time). Monica joins us from Knox College, where she served as the Director of Spiritual Life. She will coordinate our multifaith and interfaith educational programming and provide pastoral care in these uncertain times. She replaces Stuart Haruyama (program coordinator) and the Chaplain responsibilities from Elyse's role. Her office is in Evelyn Chapel.
