NickiLewis '20 Earns Grant for McLean County YWCA
For her final project in Illinois Wesleyan's grant writing seminar, Nicki Lewis received more than a grade. The senior sociology major's proposal earned a $1,645 grant from Youth Engaged in Philanthropy for the YWCA of McLean County.

11 a.m., Evelyn Chapel – Pursuing Passions, Claiming Callings: A Lunch & Learn Alumni Panel Event – All IWU students are welcome to attend this Alumni Panel Event. Alums working in various professions from various worldviews will speak about the ways they experience their work and commitments as a calling; how they've navigated failure and celebrated successes; how they've discovered a deeper purpose to their work; how their passions and callings have changed over time; how their beliefs (religious, spiritual, secular) have shaped their lives. Lunch will be provided. 


4 p.m., Basement, Evelyn Chapel – ReligiosiTEA: What is Pantheism? – Are reality and the divine one and the same? Do all things constitute a part of some transcendent force? Come learn about the theological and philosophical tradition of pantheism. Anthony Romanelli '23 will share his own experiences with the tradition and show how it has been practiced by religious, spiritual, and secular groups around the world. Sponsored by IWU Interfaith and the Office of Multifaith Engagement.

Thursday, Jan. 30

 

11 a.m., Vinyard Room, Memorial Center – Passport Acceptance Fair – Two agents from the Bloomington Post Office will be on hand to accept completed passport applications. The Fair is open to students, faculty, and staff. Those interested can find more information here, along with links to the passport application, details on supporting documents, and a link to make a review appointment. For faculty and staff interested in submitting an application, please let the International Office know in advance so they can estimate the number of applicants needing to be processed.


4 p.m., 108, State Farm Hall – Information Session for Paid Summer Internships – This information session will assist those who may be interested in applying to the IWU Fund for Human Rights, Environmental Sustainability, and Social Justice, which gives students financial support if they pursue summer internships that further the goals of the fund. The fund is administered by the Center for Human Rights and Social Justice.

Grad Fair - Wednesday, Jan. 29

 

Graduating Seniors: Please remember to order your cap and gown from Herff Jones and confirm your degree with a representative of the Registrar's office on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Hansen Student Center. You will wear this regalia at the Commencement ceremony on May 3 and the Honors Convocation on April 8. There is no charge; the University provides the regalia for you.  

 

Herff Jones will also offer other products you may wish to purchase such as personalized announcements, diploma frames, keeper caps, class rings and some new products this year including a stole of gratitude. You will also have the opportunity to pre-register for email distribution of your commencement photo proofs with Grad Images. Note: The University does not provide your email addresses to outside vendors.  

 

Cap and gown delivery will occur on April 6. If you have questions, a representative from Herff Jones will be on campus during the order and delivery dates. You may also email us at commence@iwu.edu or call 309-556-3151.
