InternsFreeman Asia Interns Share Unique Experiences
Following a summer of cultural immersion at internship sites in four countries across Asia, 36 Illinois Wesleyan Freeman Asia interns shared their experiences during a recent poster presentation.

GeorgeVinyard Honored for Decades of University Leadership

Recently retired Board of Trustees Chair George Vinyard '71 was recognized for nearly 50 years of service and leadership to the University during the Board's October meeting.

12 p.m., Turfler Room, Memorial Center – Academic Skills Series: Writing 101: Crafting Strong Papers – The Divisions of Academic and Student Affairs collaborate each semester to present the Academic Skills Series, a series of programs designed to assist students in the development or strengthening of academic skills (in and out of the classroom) needed to be successful at IWU.

  • Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing Amy Funk was interviewed for an article in Hearing Health Magazine, a publication of the Hearing Health Foundation. The interview highlighted her research on the hospital experience of older adults with hearing impairment.
    In addition, Funk presented her research at the Public Health Palliative Care International Conference in Sydney, Australia. She presented her findings from a study on experiencing the death of a sibling as a child.

Please join Student Affairs for the annual Campus Safety Walk where we walk campus with an eye to any safety concerns (lighting, landscaping, sidewalk/trip hazards, etc). We welcome students, faculty and staff to join us or to send problem area descriptions to If you send a description, please be specific (location, issue; feel free to include a photo). We look forward to this safety assessment of our campus grounds.

Apply now to join Habitat for Humanity for a trip to the mountains of North Carolina. We will travel down to work on a house project for a local family, as well as learn more about the culture, people, and natural environment of the area. We would love to have you with us!
