Through March, Merwin and Wakeley Galleries, Joyce Eichhorn Ames School of Art – Art Exhibits – Works by artists Aaron Wolf-Boze and Helen Tegeler will be featured in a dual exhibit, “transitions/transformations,” in the Merwin Gallery, while an exhibit by Justin Kronewetter '62, “Seen While Looking,” will be in the Wakeley Gallery. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 12-4 p.m., Tuesday evenings 7-9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 1-4 p.m.

He will share insights from his own research and book, Religion and Progressive Activism, and invite participants to share what they are seeing and experiencing in their communities.

7:30 p.m., C101, CNS – Speaker: The Current Crisis and the Long History of U.S. Counterrevolution in Korea – Guest speaker Christine Hong, Associate Professor of Literature and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies at University of California, Santa Cruz, will discuss the tensions between the U.S. and North Korea. Hong has served as the guest co-editor of Reframing North Human Rights, a two-part thematic issue of Critical Asian Studies, and The Unending Korean War, a special issue of positions: asia critique. She serves on the board of directors of the Korea Policy Institute, an independent research and educational institute, and on the steering committee of the Critical Ethnic Studies Association. She is the author of the forthcoming book The Price of Inclusion: Race, Militarism, and the Pax Americana in Cold War Asia and the Pacific. She also co-directed the "Legacies of the Korean War" oral history project. As a former steering committee member of the Alliance of Scholars Concerned about Korea, she helped launch the three-year Teaching Initiative to End the Korean War. Her visit is sponsored by the Diplomatic Studies Team and the Asian Studies Team of the International Studies Program, and by the Department of History.
