• Nick Anderson '14, an associate at MorganMyers, was a panelist at CR Magazine’s COMMIT! Forum in New York, discussing the future of Corporate Social Responsibility.
  
  
• The Illinois Wesleyan Circle K Club helped refurbish the Towanda bike trail on Oct. 22 as part of the Kiwanis One Day event. Four members from the club, along with members from the Illinois Wesleyan Alpha Phi Omega chapter, helped with painting murals and tables, planting trees and mulching.
  In addition, the IWU Circle K Club raised $150 for Trick or Treat for Unicef and on Nov. 6, members packed 12 shoeboxes full of school supplies, toys, T-shirts, and more to give to kids in need as part of Operation Christmas Child, a program developed by Samaritan’s Purse.

Do you ever look in your closet and see shoes you just don’t need anymore? Instead of throwing out your old shoes this winter, consider donating them to someone in need. Milestones Early Learning Center and Preschool will be holding a shoe fundraiser through Dec.14. They are accepting men’s, women’s and children’s new or gently used shoes of all kinds and sizes. Donation boxes on campus will be set up in the lobby of Holmes Hall.

From 7-11 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, Outreach Librarian/Professor Sue Anderson and the Writing Center staff will be in The Ames Library to support students in completing projects/papers/videos etc. 

Starting a paper and don’t know where to begin? Anderson can talk you through the research process and help you find just the right articles. Writing Center tutors and Joel Haefner will be on hand to review drafts of papers. Poster printing on demand will be available from 7-10 p.m.

Two massage therapists will be available from 7-9 p.m. to relieve stress; sign-up sheets are on the door of Room 139 for 10-minute slots. 

We want to help students finish the semester projects due before finals. Come to Ames to GET IT DONE! Snacks and de-stress fun will also be in the mix.

Allyson Frizzell '12 started Nov. 14 as Student Gift Assistance Coordinator in Financial Aid, replacing Kelly Scheffert.
