Through Dec. 9, Merwin and Wakeley galleries, Joyce. G. Eichhorn Ames School of Art Building – Art Exhibits by Taryn McMahon and Gretchen Beck – The galleries will feature the work of printmaker Taryn McMahon and contemporary artist Gretchen Beck.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 12 to 4 p.m., Tuesday evenings 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.

White International Forum – Kirill Maslinsky, a visiting Fulbright Fellow at Illinois Wesleyan from St. Petersburg, Russia, will speak at the Vladimir-Canterbury Sister Cities Association inaugural William L. White International Forum, which is named in honor of the late William Luther White, who served Illinois Wesleyan for 33 years as chaplain and professor of religion, and was one of the founders of the Vladimir/Canterbury Sister City Association of Bloomington-Normal.

Hansen Facilities Closed on Tuesday, Nov. 22

The Bookstore, Tommy’s and Hattie’s will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 22 in preparation for some maintenance work in Hansen over the Thanksgiving break.

Planned Power Outages on Wednesday, Nov. 23

There will be planned power outages on Wednesday, Nov. 23, when campus offices are closed for Thanksgiving Break:

Holmes Hall – 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Shaw Hall – 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Center for Liberal Arts – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Stevenson Hall – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Students Needing to Stay on Campus During Thanksgiving Break

All IWU residence halls will be closing for the 2016 Thanksgiving Recess on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m., and will not reopen until Sunday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m.

If you need to stay in your hall or have access to it during the 2016 Thanksgiving Recess, you must request this as soon as possible.

  • You will need special access on your ID in order to have the ability to enter the building during break; your ID will not work without it.
  • For 2016 Thanksgiving Recess you should make that request before Wednesday, Nov. 16 to avoid charges.
  • More information about approved reasons for staying & requesting special access is available here.
  • If you have any questions, please ask your Residence Director.
