Quadrangle Dedicated in Honor of Egbers Family
The redeveloped quadrangle north of State Farm Hall, which includes a stainless steel water sculpture entitled Aspiration, has been named Egbers Quadrangle.
IWU Astronomer Eager for Probe's Flyby of Pluto
Wesleyan's Linda French, whose research explores similar questions as the New Horizons space probe, is eager for its new observations of Pluto.
Geraty Named Interim Dean of Admissions
Bob Geraty, a Class of 1998 graduate with more than 17 years of admissions experience with Illinois Wesleyan, has been appointed interim dean of admissions.

• Go, Titan fans! According to the NCAA, the Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team was sixth in average attendance among all Division III schools for the 2014-15 season.
• For their performances in the classroom as well as the pool, four Illinois Wesleyan women's swimmers were among those achieving Scholar All-American honors, as selected by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America: juniors Lauren Dineen-Griffin and Kirsten Slaughter and sophomores Baylee Hoecker and Meg Stanley.
• For the third straight season, Amy Seter '16 was named as an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.

Ongoing: A variety of summer camps for youth are offered on the IWU campus.
• Through Aug. 27 – Merwin and Wakeley Galleries, Joyce Eichhorn Ames School of Art – Summer Art Exhibits – The newly named director of Illinois Wesleyan's Merwin and Wakeley Galleries, Ian T. Carey, is one of the artists exhibiting work in the galleries.
Carey's "Hoodwinked" is on view in the Merwin Gallery, while Neil Cole's photographs, "Scenes from Seoul and Kyoto," are in the Wakeley Gallery.
Summer gallery hours are Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 12-3 p.m.

• 3:30-6 p.m., Shirk Center parking lot (south end) – Peace Garden Farm Stand – Illinois Wesleyan's Peace Garden will sell fresh, organic, locally grown produce in the Shirk Center parking lot (corner of Fell and Emerson) every Tuesday from 3:30-6 p.m. or until produce runs out. As the summer heats up, the garden will be providing more and more options for purchase. • Natalie Weimer '16 is conducting summer research in the University at Buffalo School of Nursing through the Institute for the Strategic Enhancement of Educational Diversity (iSEED). She is reviewing client-centered therapy under the guidance of a nursing faculty member.
Sarah Lewis '07 graduated summa cum laude and as salutatorian with an engineering degree from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. (Pictured left, shaking the hand of Sen. Elizabeth Warren after her graduation.) She will work on nuclear submarines in the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Prior to enrolling at the academy, she received a commission with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Corps as an ensign and sailed as a third mate on their research vessels.
• Edenfall, a debut fiction novella by Janna Y. Strain '13, will be released this week by Ceti Publishing. Ceti Publishing is an independent publishing project established by fellow IWU alum Chris Francis '13, assisted by Tia Sprengel '14.
Strain notes the initial drafts of the story were written for an upper-level fiction class with Visiting Assistant Professor of English Brandi Reissenweber, who encouraged its development further than the classroom. It is available at www.cetipublishing.com/edenfall.
Ceti will also release The Street Flattener by Patrick Cavanaugh '14 this fall.
