After rising through the ranks at the FBI, then serving as a Fortune 500 executive until his retirement last year, Michael Mason ’80 is pitching in to combat a school bus driver shortage in his home community, in a "doing well and doing good" story that has captured national attention.
IWU Web Content Specialist Kristen Buhrmann and Instructional Professor and General Biology Lab Coordinator Libby Haywood were recognized as women who are "trailblazers in their professions, pathfinders for social justice and women on the rise."

  • The Titan football team raised $6,350 dollars for the Alzheimer's Association during the Walk to End Alzheimer's in October, which was the fifth-highest total of the 68 groups that participated.

  • IWU Director of Marketing Andy Kreiss ’86 stars as Walter the Elf, and Assistant Professor of Music Robert Mangialardi as Gus the Elf, in the annual Holiday Spectacular written by Nancy Steele Brokaw '71. Others with IWU connections among the cast include Cindy (Morris) Myers ’80, Fred Render '79 and Ella Mavros (child of Jeff ’98 and Katie Mavros ’05). Performances are this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4-5.


  • The Illinois Wesleyan University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi has achieved Circle of Excellence Silver status. The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi awards this recognition to its outstanding chapters for their commitment to honor and excellence. "This award is a true testament of the dedication of your faculty and staff who serve as volunteer chapter officers and for their work to recognize and honor excellence on your campus," Acting Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Traci Navarre said in a letter announcing the award.


  • A.J. Keller '08 has been named this year's winner of the Julius Herford Dissertation Prize for his 2020 dissertation from Northwestern University.
