Frank Vlastnik ’87 is co-author of a new showcase of the life and work of the renowned designer to the stars, The Art of Bob Mackie, which includes a foreword by Carol Burnett and an afterword by Cher.
A sense of community and belonging can be both comforting and challenging to find as a first-year student on a college campus. Bloomington's mayor visited a Gateway Course this semester to discuss how he found a sense of "home" in Bloomington.
Titan Athletics
The entire roster of Titan men's basketball Academic All-Americans – whose total AAA accolades since the program's inception exceed all other competitors across the nation, across all divisions – returned to IWU for the inaugural Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational, which the Titans won.

Illinois Wesleyan Men's Golf Head Coach Jim Ott – recently named to the Team USA coaching staff for the 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup – was announced as a 2021 inductee into the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame.

Artwork by Oliver Lee Jackson ’58 is currently presented in a solo exhibition at the St. Louis Art Museum. The free exhibition will run through Feb. 20, 2022. It features work spanning five decades of Oliver’s career. A 120-page catalog, featuring work from this exhibition and a 2019 exhibition at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., is forthcoming.

In recent highlights, Tom Richards ’78 is the author of Dolphin Song, a sweeping tale that follows the journey of an Irish-American family caught up in a storm of tragedy. The book is an extension of a screenplay Tom wrote with collaborator Liam O’Neill, who died in May 2020 of COVID-19. Liam had encouraged Tom to adapt the screenplay as a book to help secure production finance, which Tom eventually completed, even after his friend’s death. Learn more.
