Professor and Chair of English Joanne Diaz was named the 2022 recipient of the Kemp Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence. At the virtual ceremony, the University honored 2021 Kemp Honoree, Professor of History Tom Lutze, and retiring members of the faculty.
Five students have been awarded stipends to conduct scholarly research or artistic activity this summer under the mentorship of a faculty member: Katie Fata '22, Joey Kiper '22, Jenna Ney '22, Anjali Patel '23 and Isabel Sperry ’22.
Titan Athletics
• The Illinois Wesleyan University tennis teams each notched wins in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin competition on Sunday, April 18: the women's team at home against North Park and the men's team on the road against Elmhurst.

In recent highlights, Rachael Marusarz ’04 was promoted to Vice President, Development / Chief Development Officer at Sinai Chicago, where she leads fundraising to support the city’s largest private, nonprofit safety net healthcare system. In 2019, she completed her Doctor of Education (EdD) in transformational leadership and coaching at Wright Graduate University.
