Georgia Georgia Nugent Named Interim President of Illinois Wesleyan University
S. Georgia Nugent, Ph.D., Kenyon College president emerita, has been appointed by Illinois Wesleyan's Board of Trustees to serve as interim president, effective Aug. 15.

Kelly and Crystal Grads Win Top Honors at 2019 National Student Auditions
Crystal Muro '19 won first place and Kelly Riordan '19 took second place in the Upper College/Independent Studio Women category at the 2019 National Student Auditions, sponsored by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Henryken Liu '21 Earns Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship
Mathematics and physics double major Henryken "Minzhao" Liu '21 (Dalian, China) was recently selected from an international pool of candidates to receive an Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship from the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers.

Greenhouse Community Greenhouse Blooms from Partnership
A group of first-year Illinois Wesleyan students helped grow a community greenhouse from an idea to reality this spring, in collaboration with the West Bloomington Revitalization Project (WBRP).

TitanIllinois Wesleyan student-athletes were honored for academic achievements:
  • Lisa Cheng, Ellen Gilbert and Megan Wong are among swimmers and divers named to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American Team for the 2018-19 season.
  • The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) honored graduated seniors J.C Grabarek and Will Rossi of the IWU men's lacrosse team as USILA/Warrior and New Balance Scholar All-Americans.
  • The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association has named the Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's swimming and diving teams to its Scholar All-America team for the Spring 2019 Semester.
