mushrooms Entrepreneurial Fellowship Winners Grow Gourmet Mushroom Business
Computer science major Bryant Finkler '20 and business administration major Nick Showalter '20 are growing a gourmet mushroom business in central Illinois. As winners of the IWU Entrepreneurial Fellowship, they were awarded a $5,000 grant to help develop their business idea. 

Corey State Farm Scholars Celebrated at Annual Luncheon
Corey Schieler '97, an IWU alum in his 22nd year as an investment professional at State Farm, spoke to student-scholarship recipients about State Farm's significant investment in their education during the University's annual State Farm Scholars Luncheon.

Ben and Fred Sestak '19 Named Outstanding Marketing Student
Benjamin Sestak '19 was named Illinois Wesleyan's Outstanding Marketing Student Award at the 58th annual American Marketing Association student conference in St. Louis.

  • For the second straight season and the eighth time overall, the Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin postseason tournament and receives the league's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament, after a win at Wheaton College on Saturday, Feb. 23.
  • The men's basketball team fell to No. 3-ranked Augustana in the CCIW semifinal in Rock Island on Friday, Feb. 22.

IWU Interfaith Summit: "Common Ground"  

Friday and Saturday, March 29-30

Alumni are invited to the second annual Interfaith Summit hosted by Evelyn Chapel. Chris Stedman will be the keynote speaker and workshop leader. Stedman is author of Faithiest: How an Atheist Found Common Ground with the Religious and is currently a fellow at Sabo Center for Democracy and Citizenship and at the Christensen Center for Vocation, both at Augsburg University. The Summit also will feature interactive workshops led by students, faculty, staff, and alumni on a variety of interfaith engagement topics, lunch, a service project, and a Multifaith Sending Service. There is no cost to attend the Summit, and online registration will be available by Feb. 22.
