  • The Illinois Wesleyan women's swimming team finished in second place in the 2019 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Swimming & Diving Championships as first-year student Ellen Gilbert earned the Rookie of the Meet honor. The men's team finished in fourth place and first-year student Mason McCauley also was named Rookie of the Meet.

IWU Interfaith Summit: "Common Ground"  

Friday and Saturday, March 29-30

Alumni are invited to the second annual Interfaith Summit hosted by Evelyn Chapel. Chris Stedman will be the keynote speaker and workshop leader. Stedman is author of Faithiest: How an Atheist Found Common Ground with the Religious and is currently a fellow at Sabo Center for Democracy and Citizenship and at the Christensen Center for Vocation, both at Augsburg University. The Summit also will feature interactive workshops led by students, faculty, staff, and alumni on a variety of interfaith engagement topics, lunch, a service project, and a Multifaith Sending Service. There is no cost to attend the Summit, and online registration will be available by Feb. 22.

    The new genus is on the cover of the journal (right).

  • Physical Chemistry of Gas-Liquid Interfaces, published by Elsevier and edited by Jennifer A Faust '10 and J. E. House, Illinois Wesleyan Scholar in Residence, has won the 2019 PROSE Award from the American Association of Publishers in the Chemistry & Physics category. The book is the first volume in the series Developments in Physical & Theoretical Chemistry, for which House is the Series Editor.
