- An essay by R. Forrest Colwell Endowed Chair and Professor of English James Plath, “In the Manner of Michelangelo: John Updike’s The Poorhouse Fair," was published in the latest issue of The John Updike Review, Vol. 6 No. 2.

B. Charles and Joyce Eichhorn Ames Professor of Physics Gabe Spalding has co-authored a paper, published in the journal Nature Communications, entitled “Light sheet microscopy with acoustic sample confinement."
Spalding also has been invited by the Optical Trapping and Manipulation in Molecular and Cellular Biology technical group of the Optical Society of America to give a talk on April 16 during the OSA Biophotonics Congress: Optics in the Life Sciences meeting in Tucson, Arizona.
