HomecomingHomecoming to Celebrate Titans Around the World

Illinois Wesleyan will celebrate Homecoming Oct. 13-15, with a theme honoring alumni living and working abroad, international studies majors, study abroad experiences, and Titans' impact internationally.

Brian Friel's haunting Dancing at Lughnasa will open the theatre season with performances Oct. 3-8 at the Jerome Mirza Theatre at McPherson Hall.

JelaniConvocation Highlight: Embrace Diversity

"What we are actually doing is studying and preparing ourselves for the better upholding of democracy," speaker Jelani Cobb says in this video clip of the Sept. 6 President's Convocation. Interacting with those who are different is the basis of community, of education, of democracy, "and that is the basis by which we can survive as a civilization," he concludes.

  • The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team toppled Calvin College, the No. 1 ranked team in Division III and defending national champion, at the Elmhurst Invitational on Friday, Sept. 15. After four straight wins, the Titans are 6-4.

  • Assistant Professor of Sociology Courtney Irby published the article, "Bifurcated Conversations in Sociological Studies of Religion and Gender," in Gender & Society Vol 31, Issue 5, 2017.

  • Emeritus R. Forrest Colwell Professor of American Literature Robert Bray will speak as part of the 2017 Lincoln Legacy Lecture Series on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. in Brookens Auditorium at the University of Illinois Springfield. There will be a live webcast of the event.
