• Swimming national champion Meg Stanley '17 has been elected to the Academic All-District 7 ® Division III Women's At-Large team and will be on the ballot for the Academic All-America® Team. Jillian Runyon '19 was elected to the Academic All-District 7 ® Division III softball team and will be on the ballot for the Academic All-America® Team. First-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be elected later this month.

• Associate Professor of Biology Edgar Lehr coauthored the publication, "A new species of semiarboreal toad of the Rhinella festae group (Anura, Bufonidae) from the Cordillera Azul National Park, Peru" with Juan C. Cusi, Jiří Moravec, and Václav Gvoždík, published in the journal ZooKeys (open access).
  
  
• Amy L. Farrell '98, a strategist in energy, environmental and regulatory policy, has been named senior vice president for government and public affairs at the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
  
  
• Christopher Phillips '81 won the Tom Watson Brown Book Award from the Civil War Historians and the Watson-Brown Foundation for his book, The Rivers Ran Backward: The Civil War and the Remaking of the American Middle Border, which was published in 2016 by Oxford University Press.
