ConnorSimmons Awarded Luis Leal Scholarship
Hispanic Studies and sociology double major Connor Simmons '19 is receiving a scholarship to conduct research on human rights and social movements while studying abroad next spring in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

  • CoachFor the second straight year and the fourth time in program history, the Illinois Wesleyan softball team has won the NCAA Regional title and will play in a best-of-three Super Regional this weekend. (At right: Team members celebrated by dousing Head Coach Tiffany Prager.)

  • TommySwimming national champion Meg Stanley '17 has been elected to the Academic All-District 7 ® Division III Women's At-Large team and will be on the ballot for the Academic All-America® Team. Jillian Runyon '19 was elected to the Academic All-District 7 ® Division III softball team and will be on the ballot for the Academic All-America® Team. First-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be elected later this month.

  • Amy L. Farrell '98, a strategist in energy, environmental and regulatory policy, has been named senior vice president for government and public affairs at the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).

  • Christopher Phillips '81 won the Tom Watson Brown Book Award from the Civil War Historians and the Watson-Brown Foundation for his book, The Rivers Ran Backward: The Civil War and the Remaking of the American Middle Border, which was published in 2016 by Oxford University Press.
