12 p.m., Meditation Garden, directly behind Evelyn Chapel – The "Green Rule" Tree Dedication at the Multifaith Meditation Garden – The campus community is invited to join the Multifaith Ambassadors as they plant a new tree in IWU's Multifaith Meditation Garden in celebration of Earth Day, multifaith diversity, and environmental sustainability. Engraved stones with teachings from the many faith and secular traditions on our campus will be placed around the new Paw Paw tree, inspired by the interfaith "Green Rule." A brief dedication ceremony will be followed by a free lunch at the garden. Sponsored by Evelyn Chapel and the Multifaith Ambassador Program.


3-8 p.m., Shirk Center – Womens Health Night 2017 – Olympic Gold medalist Jackie Joyner Kersee will be the keynote speaker at this community event, sponsored by The Illinois Heart and Lung Foundation.

 

4-5:30 p.m., Eckley Quad in front of State Farm Hall – The Hungry Games: Casting Away Hunger – The community is invited to help the Health 280: Perspectives in Global Health class raise $1,000 to support fish pond programs for hungry families through World Vision. The class campaign, called “Casting Away Hunger,” seeks to raise enough for 3 community fish ponds. For $315 World Vision supplies a community with a fully stocked pond and fishing supplies, intended to help reduce hunger and boost the community's economy.
Come for some pre-finals fun on the Quad with The Hungry Games: egg races, bobbing for apples, cookie face, and donut fun with a $2 minimum donation to play. Winners will receive extra chances to win a raffle for gift cards from Firehouse Pizza and more. This event is open to the public. Donate at this event, or weekdays through April 25 in the IWU Dugout from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and CNS Atrium 1-3 p.m; on Reading Day, April 26, from 1-6 p.m. at The Ames Library; or donate online.

8 a.m., Ewing Park 1, 1420 Towanda Ave., Bloomington – Spring Migration Walk with Given Harper – Join IWU Wellness as Professor Given Harper leads a bird watching walk in Ewing Park. We'll meet in the parking lot of Ewing Park, off of Towanda Avenue. The walk will last approximately 2 hours. Bring your binoculars and get ready to enjoy the great outdoors without leaving town.
