In recent posts, Sarah Mmari ’97 recently visited the IWU campus for the first time in 20 years. A native of Tanzania, Mmari returned to her home country after finishing her coursework in business administration in December 1996.

- Irv Epstein, Ben and Susan Rhodes Endowed Professor in Peace and Social Justice, chair of Educational Studies and director of the Center for Human Rights, spoke at a session in the Canadian Parliament on behalf of the Scholars At Risk Board of Directors.
- Director and Associate Professor of Theatre Arts Tom Quinn will appear as a guest star in an episode of Chicago PD expected to air the first week of January on NBC. In the episode entitled, "Don't Read the News," he portrays Walter Vollman, a disgraced investigative journalist who is interviewed by two detectives about a case he was working on before being fired for inappropriate conduct. "I had a great experience working on the show, and will be seeing the episode for the first time when it airs," Quinn said. "I hope it's as good on television as it is in my head."
- Ann Balsamo ’81, who was appointed dean of the School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication at the University of Texas at Dallas in May, discussed the school’s efforts to raise HIV/AIDS awareness.

|
The IWU Alumni Association Nominating Committee needs your help compiling a list of alumni candidates for the Alumni Award categories below.
The Distinguished Alumni Award
This award is presented annually to a person who has made a distinguished contribution to society, has achieved professional distinction, or has demonstrated civic leadership.
The Robert M. Montgomery Outstanding Young Alumni Award
Named for a 1968 alumnus and former IWU Alumni Director, this award recognizes young alumni for outstanding professional achievement, civic leadership, or both. Nominees for this award should be 2002-2016 graduates.
The Loyalty Award
This award recognizes alumni who have benefited Illinois Wesleyan either through service to the University, strong financial support, or both.

Ann Aubry has been named Director of Communications, reporting to Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing LeAnn Hughes. Aubry was named Acting Director of Communications in May, following the retirement of Vice President for Communications Matt Kurz, when a search began for a vice president to lead reorganized offices of Admissions, Financial Aid and Communications. |
