Illinois Wesleyan will introduce its 19th president at 11:30 a.m. today (Sept. 14) at Hansen Student Center. The event will be streamed live and viewable afterward at this link.

Pride Illinois Wesleyan Receives High Rating for Efforts to Create Inclusive Community
Illinois Wesleyan University earned a 4-star rating on the Campus Pride Index for its inclusion efforts around sexual and gender identity.

Mohamed Nobel Peace Prize Winner Mohamed ElBaradei to Present Master Class
As part of the Stevenson Lecture Series, Mohamed ElBaradei will give a master class at Illinois Wesleyan on Sept. 30 before speaking that evening at Illinois State University.

Stephanie Alumni to be Honored During Homecoming
Stephanie Whyte '91, Korey Coon '00 and Jim Mullins '03 will be honored during Homecoming activities on Oct. 10.

In recent posts, Class of 2002 theatre alumna Margaret Hartmann is in her third year as an electrician and Lighting Console Programmer for the NBC TV series Chicago P.D. She previously worked as a master electrician and in lighting design for theaters in Chicago.

So that all campus employees can attend, offices will close at 11:15 a.m. and reopen after the noon hour. Kudos

•  While in France to present a paper on his sabbatical topic on the history of bicycles in Illinois, Information Literacy Librarian / Associate Professor Chris Sweet competed in the Ironman Vichy. He finished first among pro competitors from the United States, and 10th among male pros overall.

Stephen Bentivenga ’86, a biology professor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, received the University's Sniffen Faculty Governance Service Award, which recognizes faculty members who have exceptional University service records.

•  Lynsey Sloan '06 has been named director of clinical and placement services at ChildServ, a child and family services non-profit organization based in Chicago. She joined the organization in 2014, serving as a foster care & clinical program manager.
