OrionChereck '04 Part of Team that Built Orion Spacecraft
Andrew Chereck '04 is a senior systems engineer at Lockheed Martin and worked on the Orion spacecraft, which completed its first test flight on Dec. 5.

Alan Google Search Yields Results for Student Intern
Computer science major Alan Russian '15 has accepted a job offer from Google, after completing an internship in the company's Los Angeles office last summer.

11 a.m.-4 p.m., The Ames Library – Stress Free Tabling Event – Students: Feeling stressed?!? Don't crack under the pressure! Take a break and take care of yourself! To help reduce your stress level during finals week, counselors from Counseling & Consultation Services will be at The Ames Library on Dec. 8, 9 and 10 offering giveaways. They will have snacks, water, Biodots, stress balls and other information to help you manage your stress level. Please stop by to get some of the tools you may need to reduce your stress.

4 p.m., Beckman Auditorium, The Ames Library – To Meet the Faces: A Performance of Slam Poems – Come watch the students of English 109: Poetry Through Performance perform their SLAM poems. Refreshments will be served.

6 p.m., Davidson Room, Memorial Center – Tributaries Release Party – The Fall 2014 issue of Tributaries is here! Students are invited to come get a copy, and writers published in the issue are welcome to participate in a reading to share their work.

10-11 p.m., Bertholf Commons, Memorial Center – Late Night Breakfast – Sodexo invites students to take a break from studying and enjoy a free late night breakfast. The IWU administration will serve eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage, pastries and other foods.

• Professor of Anthropology Chuck Springwood published "Gun Concealment, Display, and Other Magical Habits of the Body," Critique of Anthropology, December 2014.

Kevin Carey '13, graduate assistant in Greek Life at Ball State University, won first place in the Order of Omega Case Study Competition at the Association of Fraternity/ Sorority Advisors Annual Meeting. The competition provides graduate members with an opportunity to use their problem solving skills to address an issue related to the work of a fraternity/sorority professional.

• Attorney Adam Law '11 has joined Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP as an associate in the firm's Indianapolis office.

Christopher Brooks '10 has self-published the novella, The Gertrude Threshold. Brooks works at the Chicago headquarters of Edelman, a public relations firm.

Wayne Messmer '72 performed with the Anthony Kawalkowski Orchestra (AKO) at its Love and Peace of Christmas Show at the Copernicus Center on Dec. 6.
