Illinois Wesleyan's baseball team won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin regular season title and will host the 2013 CCIW Tournament on May 9-11.

• 12 p.m., Davidson Room, Memorial Center -- Faculty Non-Org -- Mental Health Counselor Bob Rogers and Associate Dean of Student Affairs Darcy Greder will discuss the Core Alcohol and Drug Survey and the culture surrounding alcohol use at Illinois Wesleyan.
Tuesday, April 30
• 12 a.m., The Ames Library (entry level) -- Paper and Book Art Exhibit -- An exhibit by Chicago artist Don Widmer will be on display through May 31.
Wednesday, May 1
• 10 a.m. -- Senior Volunteer Day -- Seniors, who started their time at IWU with volunteer activities through Turning Titan: New Student Orientation, will have the opportunity to mark their next transition with a final day of service before graduation.
• 5:30 p.m., Eckley Quadrangle -- Senior Picnic -- The Class of 2013 will enjoy dinner on the Quad as part of Senior Week activities.
Friday, May 3
• 7:30 p.m., Hansen Student Center -- Hypnotist Frederick Winters will entertain.
Saturday, May 4
• 8 p.m., Young Main Lounge and Joslin Atrium, Memorial Center -- Senior Night of Talent -- Students, friends, family, faculty and staff are invited to join together for a night of informal entertainment from the graduating class. Refreshments will be served.
Sunday, May 5
• 1 p.m., Kemp Commencement Plaza (rain location: Shirk Center) -- Commencement 2013 -- Juan Salgado, class of 1991 alumnus and president and CEO of Instituto del Progreso Latino, will give the address at the Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2013.

• Professor of English James Plath edited a volume of essays on short story writer Raymond Carver. Critical Insights: Raymond Carver is part of the Critical Insights series published by Salem Press. Plath also contributed two essays, "On Raymond Carver," on Carver's career and influence, and a contextual essay, "The Carver Triangle: Lost in an Edward Hopper World."
• Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Dani Snyder-Young has been selected to be a theatre critic by the HowlRound journal as part of its NewCrit initiative.
• Professor of Physics Gabe Spalding gave an invited talk at a meeting of the Optical Society of America on the big island in Hawaii. His talk was entitled, "Tailoring Acoustic Beam Momentum and Angular Momentum."
