• Assistant Professor of Nursing Brenda S. Lessen received the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society's Research Grant Award for 2012-13 for her project, "Premature Infant Oral Motor Intervention (PIOMI): Translating Interventional Neonatal Research into Interdisciplinary Practice." 

The grant will allow the continued production of training materials and a site visit to train Speech Language Pathologists how to use the intervention in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Lessen has provided training for the PIOMI in 10 states and 7 countries since early 2012.
