Tower Brass Quintet to Perform Concert

February 2, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Tower Brass Quintet, a premier chamber music ensemble, will give a concert at the Evelyn Chapel (1301 N. Park St., Bloomington) of Illinois Wesleyan University.  The concert, to be held on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.

The quintet consists of the following performers: Brian Bushong, trumpet; Larry Herman, trumpet; Daniel Saygers, trombone; and Bernice Schwartz, horn.  The ensemble released six recordings, the latest of which is entitled "20."  They have been together for over 25 years, and have performed in just as many states.

The group went international 21 years ago, and has collaborated with many internationally known premier brass ensembles.  Tower Brass performed a prize-winning concert at their international launch in 1986 at the International Brass Chamber Music Competition in Barcs, Hungary.  The group was also named "most popular instrumental ensemble" by the Lake Erie West People's Choice Awards.
