Jae Lyn Hepner joined the faculty of Illinois Wesleyan University the fall of 1993 as adjunct instructor of flute. She is also the founder and director of the IWU Flute Choir. Ms. Hepner served as Music Consultant in the Minneapolis, MN. area from 1970-1971. And as the HS Director of Bands in Melvin-Sibley, IL school system from 1971-1972. She was the choral director of the youth choir at Calvary United Methodist Church for 18 years. She has been teaching flute for over 40 years and has served as clinician and adjudicator at several music camps and festivals.

The IWU Flute Choir was established by Ms. Hepner in 2001. They have performed for various community and church functions in the area and present their Flute Gala in the Spring. The flute choir is open to all studio members as well as all campus flutists wishing to continue their playing at this level.
