Judy Meyer Hays
Associate Professor of Elementary Music Methods
Judy Meyer Hays has been working with music and children in various capacities for 40+ years. Currently she offers weekly JoyfulSound music classes for birth-5 year olds and a caregiver in Hoffman Estates, IL.
Judy has presented on a variety of topics at Alaska, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin Music Educators' State Conferences as well as the MENC (now NAfME) National Conference. Ms. Hays is a National Board Certified Teacher and actively involved in the Illinois Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance Project . She recently retired from Schaumburg School District 54 where she taught K-6 general and vocal music. Ms. Hays volunteers in her community for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra authoring teacher’s guides and preparing docents, ushering for fine arts performances with the Saints , and teaching music at Prince of Peace Preschool.
At IWU, Prof. Hays teaches the Elementary Music Methods course for Music Education students.
