Mark Evans Observatory

The Mark Evans Observatory, completed in 1970, gained a new telescope and charge-coupled device (CCD) camera in 2013. As a result, the observatory was designated an official observing site of the Minor Planet Center (MPC). Learn more.

Astronaut Frank Borman dedicated the observatory in March 1969, shortly after he commanded Apollo VIII, the first manned space flight to orbit the moon.
