Illinois Wesleyan is located in the twin cities of Bloomington and Normal, Illinois.  Bloomington-Normal has a population of about 167,699 and is located only a few hours from Chicago, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, and Indianapolis, Indiana. There are many fun and interesting things to do and see in the Bloomington-Normal area!

Constitution Trail

The Constitution Trail is a 24-mile path perfect for walking, jogging, biking or rollerblading in nice weather.  There are four sections to the trail, reaching across Bloomington-Normal.

Miller Park Zoo

The Miller Park Zoo is a great place to take a stroll and see the animals! A few of the animals you'll see here include bears, reindeer, tigers, red pandas, otters, lemurs, bald eagles and monkeys.

David Davis Mansion

The David Davis Mansion is a historic home that once belonged to Judge David Davis, a Supreme Court Justice and friend of President Abraham Lincoln.  The mansion now serves as a museum.  It is furnished to look as it did in the 1800s and is open for tours.

Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts

The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts, or BCPA, is a performing arts venue located just a short walk from the Illinois Wesleyan campus.  Here you can see community or touring performances, as well as performances by the Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra.

Downtown Bloomington

Downtown Bloomington is located just a short walk from the Illinois Wesleyan campus!  There are plenty of stores and restaurants, and a Farmer's Market, which sells fresh meats and produce, in the warmer months.  Various events and festivals also take place in downtown Bloomington throughout the year.

Uptown Normal

Uptown Normal also includes many stores and restaurants, as well as the Amtrak train station, where you can take a train to Chicago. Uptown Normal also has festivals and events throughout the year.

Bloomington and Normal are considered ‘twin cities’ and host 3 universities and 1 community college!
