English as a Second Language Service

esl

Welcome!

Students at Illinois Wesleyan University come from over 20 different countries around the world, therefore enriching our community with their knowledge and experiences.  As a global language, English is spoken and learned as an additional language in students’ home countries.

In the Writing Center at IWU, we understand that our students’ experiences with the English language are unique and very diverse, so the Tutoring Service for Multilingual Writers at IWU seeks to help students develop their cross-cultural knowledge of writing by considering their goals as multilingual users of English in a North American academic context.

In the Tutoring Service for Multilingual Writers at IWU you can learn and practice writing-related aspects such as word choice, citing your sources, readers’ expectations and much more!

If you have any questions about our services please contact our instructor, Dr. Teodora Nikolova, tnikolov@iwu.edu.

The Tutoring Service for Multilingual Writers is located in the Writing Center, Ames 105B.
