M.A. - Illinois State University; B.A. Universidad Francisco Marroquin
I am originally from Guatemala City, Guatemala where I received my B.A. in Communications from the Universidad Francisco Marroquín. My M.A. is from Illinois State University, with a primary concentration in Latin American Literature and a secondary concentration in Peninsular Culture. Previously, I have taught at the community college level in California and at the university level at Illinois State University. What I enjoy the most about teaching at Illinois Wesleyan University is the opportunity to share my language and culture with IWU students. Foremost is the gratifying feeling to know they are immersing themselves and exchanging new perspectives about the culture. I enjoy writing poetry and short stories because I believe literature highlights our human sensibility.
