As members of PFLAG we have learned that lesbians, bisexuals, gay and transgender
people come from families from all corners of the earth, from every culture, and from
every religious and ethnic group. Sexual orientation is neither chosen nor taught;
it is not "just a stage" of development.
As members of PFLAG, we have learned to affirm our loved ones' sexual orientation;
we recognize their expression of love as natural and moral.
We view rejection of lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender persons by their families
as tragedy. We respect the right of each person to be who he or she authentically
Finally, we believe that by speaking out and breaking the silence surrounding homosexuality,
we replace prejudice and stereotypes with truth. PFLAG has opened new windows of understanding
for us and we seek to share that understanding with others.
