Dr. William “Randy” Reed ’73 and his wife, Jodie, have supported the Transforming Lives campaign with a series of gifts over the past year that will impact student lives in a number of significant ways.

At the Scholarship Benefactor Dinner on October 10, the Reeds’ latest gift, the Dr. and Mrs. William Reed Endowed Promise Scholarship, was announced. In the spring, the Reeds joined a number of alumni in providing a challenge gift that helped to take the All In For Wesleyan one-day giving for scholarship support to a remarkable total in terms of alumni participation and dollars raised.

The Reeds also provided a lead gift for the Criley Endowment for Student Research, which provides summer research opportunities in the sciences. Their other gifts include a gift to the State Farm Hall classroom building and a significant commitment to the Wesleyan Fund.

Healthcare, research and education have been important parts of Randy and Jodie Reed’s lives. Following graduation from Wesleyan, Randy studied medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago and served his residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. He is board certified in pediatrics, perinatal and neonatal medicine. Randy has practiced for more than 30 years and Jodie has been a registered nurse–with much of their time spent in Wichita, Kan.
