Coronavirus Information (COVID-19)

President Nugent discusses the impact of the COVID-19 response on students and the IWU campus.

A Solid  Investment

A degree from Illinois Wesleyan is highly valued. And profitable. When you evaluate colleges, consider more than your expected financial contribution up front. Look at everything you get in the bargain, now and in life dividends. Compared to national averages, more Illinois Wesleyan graduates finish their degree in four years, begin meaningful careers within six months of graduation, and earn significantly higher salaries. I have paid my enrollment deposit. Will the registration date for summer change?

As of today, we are planning to hold summer registration days as scheduled on June 12, 15, 19, and 22.

Will the May 1 deadline for my enrollment decision continue?

We want to ensure that you have the time you need to make the decision that’s right for you and will be extending the deadline to July 1. You can make your enrollment decision anytime before July and once you do so, you’ll be contacted about next steps regarding housing and summer registration. If you have any questions about your enrollment fee, you can contact your admissions counselor or gking@iwu.edu .

Will there be an extension for final transcripts?

We will be flexible and work closely with you and your institution to ensure we have the documents we need without creating additional stress.

For Prospective Students

Will this affect the timing of admission notification?

No. As of now, this does not change our plans for any admissions decisions. We are evaluating applications as usual.

I am trying to apply, but my high school is closed and I won’t be able to submit my transcripts.

We understand this difficulty and will be making admissions decisions on self-reported grades and test scores until schools re-open. If you are accepted without official transcripts, those will need to be provided before you begin classes in the fall.

Will there be an application deadline extension?

We will work with all our students to alleviate stress and will extend application deadlines as necessary. If you are interested in applying, go ahead and fill out the application at your earliest convenience and we’ll collect transcripts and test scores once schools re-open.

IWU welcomes students from around the world. We are closely monitoring the situation and will adhere to any decisions made by the US government.  Contact Emily Shankar (eshankar@iwu.edu) with any questions specific questions or concerns.

If I am unable to get into the United States by August, can I defer my admission? Yes, if you are unable to get into the United States by August you can defer your admission to Spring 2021 or Fall 2021. We will defer your admission and scholarship offer as well as update your I-20.
