Tributaries has a big month coming up! We have both a faculty presentation by Dr. Sainsbury and The Spooky Slam (aka October poetry slam)! Look inside.
Hey all,
Time is short, so we'll be brief.
First up, on Tuesday October 20th, Dr. Sainsbury will be presenting her latest work, her autobiography, to the students and then taking questions. This is the second event in the series which is designed to show writers here what they can become, and get them involved with the creative writers among the faculty here at IWU. Do it. It's free and fun. Show starts at 8pm in Hansen Student Center.
Finally, on Thursday October 29th, The Spooky Slam will be taking over! This slam will feature an open mic, student features (currently confirming their names), and a poetry slam. Essentially, if you want to have fun and compete, bring one of your poems to read/perform aloud to the group, and the rest will be explained to you later! This event will have candy, creepy things, dead poets, music, insanity, and of course, great poetry. The more come, the more fun we have! If you are even partly interested, come and find out what these monthly slams are all about! Again, free show starts at 7:30pm in Hansen Student Center.
See you there!
